StudyHelp9000

Stop. Close your textbooks and online resources. All you need to do buy the new StudyHelp9000. This new device is simply put on to your head like a cap. The StudyHelp9000 simulates the brain and causes what ever you read or listened to will be stored in your brain! Some say this device is a cheating mechanism, but most people agree, that with the technology, this allows students and others who want to remember something, save lots of time. This extra time allows more children to get their mind off school and studying, and allows them to play and have fun, and to stay healthy. The StudyHelp9000 is not 100% guaranteed, but it will definitely get you to remember things a lot more than cramming yourself. The StudyHelp9000 doesn't let the brain remember information for very long. The StudyHelp9000 will get some information to become long term memory, but other things such as detailed lines from a play, will only last about a month, depending on the person. If you want to have more time, with family, friends, or activities, but still want to study or remember things, then StudyHelp9000 is for you.

A
ny pain, dizziness, or headaches lasting for more then 4 hours, you should see your doctor right away. Other side effects include vomiting and or abdominal pain.

I think that the Studyhelp9000 is a really good idea. I truly believe that the population of obese children and adults will be minimized. I also don't think this is considered as cheating, the person is reading it, or remembering what ever they want, the Studyhelp9000 just makes you remember it a lot faster and longer. I think this new invention is a plus to the society and great benefit for everyone. I believe it benefits everyone, and no one is at loss.

Dolly The Cloned Sheep

Dolly was a cloned sheep. Dolly was born on July 5, 1996 and died on February 14, 2003. Dolly was the first animal to be cloned. The biologists used the process of nuclear transfer. Dolly was the first clone produced from a cell taken from an adult animal. She was cloned by Ian Wilmut and Keith Campbell. The biologists at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland where also part of this great discovery. Cloning is still inefficient, Dolly was one of the 277 attempts to try to create new life. Thanks to Dolly, scientists now believe that cloning can be possible. Now the question is how can you succeed in cloning? Dolly died on February 14, 2003, due to lung cancer. Scientist believe that she didn't die because she was a clone. The sheep that were around Dolly also had lung cancer. Although Dolly had a short telomere than the sheep, scientist are still trying to create new successful life.

I think the creation of Dolly is a great breakthrough in the world of biology. It shows that clones can be possible, but i don't clones should be made on humans nor animals after scientist find at least a 80% chance of success. I think cloning should be put a side after that, because as humans I don't think we should act like God. Also there are way to many people on this Earth, more people are getting born, and more people are living longer. This is great that people are living longer due to good health, but i believe if cloning was to be done legally, people who failed having a child from sex, will turn to cloning. If this occurs the idea of making love, and destroys the whole concept of sex and reproduction. So, for now i don't mind testing clones, but wen the time comes and clone becomes easier, then i will go against it.

Biology Entrepreneur:Craig Venter

Craig Venter, founder of The Institute for Genomic Research. Him and his team, were the 1st to decode the genome of a free- living organism. In the year 2001 Craig Venter found the Human genome. Craig Venter Institute announced that they had manufactured the entire genome of a bacterium by putting together its chemical components. The Institute for Genomic Research is looking for biological energy production and synthetic life.

I think that Craig Venter is doing extremely well, He gave the other scientists a whole new step to take it from. He accomplished many things in his life for himself as well as for others. Craig Venter went to Mills High School. He wasn't getting the straight A's you would expect for him to get and went through many hardships in his life. He is striving to find more mysteries in biology.

I think Craig Venter and his company will solve more mysteries, that other scientists couldn't find, and hopefully find cures for diseases, that we don't know the cause of. I hope he can make another great break through in things we didn't know before, and continue to help fellow scientists around him.

So Small, Yet SOOO COMPLEX

Dr. Fong was a quest speaker for Mr. Olson's Biology class. Dr. Fong explained to the class about the functions and parts of the eye. She told us that the eye is very complex, that even Mr. Charles Darwin was stuck on how the eye had evolved. Dr. Fong also told the class that, looking at the eye, and its veins and arteries, a expert can tell if the person has high blood pressure, if the person was blond hair, young or old, if a person had diabetes, and even high cholesterol. Another interesting fact is that no one has the same Retina as you. Not even twins have the same Retina. When dissecting the sheep eye, the Retina was a opaque color, and Dr. Fong pointed out that, the older the eye, the more of an opaque color. A younger is clearer then the older eye. Dr. Fong was a great presenter, even though I didn't know much, if not anything about the eye before, Dr. Fong explained the basics and the functions of the eye clearly. She explained the "hard to understand" terms in simple terms, so that everyone can understand, which think really help the class to listen to. I really enjoyed the guest speaker, and I am now looking forward to learn more about the eye!

Something That Will Blow Your Mind!!!

Louise Mead of the National Center for Science Education (NCSE) came into Mr. Olson's classroom in Mills High School to teach the class how evolution works. Her interest in Salamanders, has lead her to believe evolution is highly possible. She also found that Salamanders from the Eastern United States, were found in Japan. The students were amazed on the information and pictures that were shown on a PowerPoint presentation. Her explanation of how monkeys and humans shared common ancestors shocked some students. Louise Mead also talked about natural and sexual selection, how different species evolved over time. At the end of the end of the day, Mr. Olson and his students learned many new facts and saw the possibility of evolution. She clearly proved that evolution had occurred on earth, and that we all share common ancestors. This presentation was a outstanding summary of the life on Earth, that would help students understand what would be learned in class in the future.

Mammoth Bones Found

MAMMOTH BONES WERE FOUND!!The bones were found in a cave on Alaska. It was a isolated island called the Pribilof Islands. The bones date to around 5,700 years ago - at least 2,200 years younger than any other known North American mammoth. Some say that humans were the cause of the extinction of these giant animals. Mammoths died out on mainland Alaska around 11,500 years ago. But they are known to have lived longer somewhere else. Last year, other Mammoth bones were found on St. Paul Island that was reported to be 7,900 years old. On Wrangel Island, near Siberia, another Mammoth bones were found that was more then 3,700 years old. Most of these island mammoths, including the St Paul animals, were smaller than normal - . "The animals may have shrunk in size as the island itself shrank, losing ground as sea levels rose after the end of the last ice age". said Crossen. I think that Mammoths were living longer, until our early ancestors killed the mammoths. Finding a frozen Mammoth with blood or something, could possibly let us humans to clone a Mammoth.
